'79 Bronco

1. '79 Bronco
this is my 3rd model, i hope this one gets finished unkike its predecessors. there're no textures or normals on it yet. i am also working on a 1973 Ford F-series based on the same mesh (but's that one's way too raw to show off yet).

pics:

real thing (for those who may have not heard about this car before):

and the polygonal grid:

2. Custom Daytona '86
this one started its life as a free mesh from 3dcafe.com (used to be a stock model). original model was rebuilt into widebody and given some air intakes all around. it's more of a fun project unlike the SUV but i may finish it as a Viper-engined custom. or i may not, because i can't get rid of the idea it looks like a mix between VW Scirocco and an old RX-7 with poorly installed 3-gen Camaro headlights. the wheels shown are not final, i just don't know the exact design i want for it yet.

your wheels are too small, it needs some nice offroad shoes like the one in the picture

there's a small polybump on the front wheel arch.
Other than that it is more than great!

Nice to see other Zmod-modelers here (It is Zmodeler I guess?)

WOW the Bronco looks really great!
the Daytona is not really my style, but nevertheless looks very good done!

For what purpose do you model those anyway, do you want to put them in a game or are they just rendermodels?

Keep up the good work

Impressive work!
You need to make that Bronco an offroad vehicle =D

By the way, did you use any blueprints for the modelling?

Post RE: everyone

wow, thanks for the comments! unfortunatelly no updates for now, because a local Nine Inch Nails gig left me a bit immobilized, but i still need to answer the questions.

the one pictured in a first post is a custom off-roader, it doesn't have such wheels as a stock car. but i still want to do an offroad version.

well, here's the '73 as it looks like ATM, still needs a lot of work (i warned you it was too raw).

if i ever finish this one it will be a stepside verison, that green truck from the SMC ad inspired me a lot.

thanks! about the polybump, sure i will correct it, i noticed the same on the '73.
and yes, that's ZM1, although the Bronco wheels were modeled in gmax.

thanks! the purpose... i think that depends on how many triangles it gets when finished, most games have strict limits about that sort of things.
any ideas about the game btw?

the Daytona is on hold now, i need to redesign the bodykit slightly i think.

thanks! as i said above i'll do an offroad version of it, about 50% of '78-79 Broncos i get pictures of are lifted off-roaders.

yes, i used these:

+a lot of reference pictures.
no blueprints for Daytona for obvious reason, same for '73 F-series truck just because i couldn't find any.

Perfect game for the cars could be San Andreas. The cars fit well in the enviorment+no polylimit.

Very true Schaefft

There are several SA-modders around here (including me ) and e.g. viktor is doing stuff for WR2, so if you want, I'm pretty sure you'll find someone for that task.

btw ... what is the polycount right now? ... judging from the pics, it's quite low!
And, are you doing engine, interior, etc aswel?

no polylimit at all?? that sounds interesting. i've seen your Crown Victoria, for that game great job on those details. if San Andreas can support all thiese features then modding it must be really good idea...

polycount is 27842 tri's for the Bronco, but that's mainly due to the wheels' high polywastement. without them it's just 8522 tri's.
about engine, interior and anything like that, i have to see any complete San Andreas addon car in 3d redactor to know for sure what needs to be modeled.

yeh, NO polylimit I've seen a 500k poly car in SA! But as you can imagine, this thing lags as hell! I think a pc less than 50k or 60k is fine though!

As for the details needed, basicly ... well ... everything! You can damage all parts, door, bonnet, boot, bumpers, etc., which results in the fact, that as soon as the car is fully damaged, you can see everything, interior, underbody, engine, trunk, bodyparts behind the bumpers etc.

Have fun modeling!

Me and a mate of one have converted a 120K poly car to SA, so no problem there.

Yes thats true you can damage anything, aslong its attached to something damageable, like one of the bumpers.

Best is to import an SA car and take a look what is needed, but R* stock cars is low in everything, but you will get a hang of it.
