1961-Ferrari 156

Hallo everbody,

there`s a project on my workbench for quite a long time. Take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think. I`m in need of some pressure to finish this project finally.

Thanks in advance

JensP

Nice modeling! Details are clean and well looking!

You need some improvements about environment and lighting.

If you want some pressure, take a look to my Ferrari 512s "coda lunga" wip (take a look in my signature)

judging from the detail you have already put in it would be a shame if you put it aside now

Thank you for your comments!

There will be updates - ASAP. I`m working on gearbox and engine now.
Luckily I`ve found some pics from a press day in Maranello at Sutton.

The light setup is on the way, I will tame this C4D ;-)

Hi,
here´s an actual update of my project. The gearbox section is evolving at the moment. The shape is getting clearer - so progress is on the way.

To give you something more I added a test render of carb, distributor and coil and a closer look at the cockpit.

In the meantime I have studied some tuts about light setups and environment - I hope this will get me somewhere soon.

I hope you enjoy this update.

very smooth and nicely detailed, it's always a pleasure to see people doing all the mechanical bits and pieces of the cars

This is some lovely work, on a rarely modeled Ferrari. I think perhaps though your white renders are making this car feel like it has no weight or presents. Thats my only gripe, the gears on this car are amazing, a lot of detail in a rarely seen part of the car for sure.

@LOST;Silent][Moebius;Icekid84 et all

some words before the next update:

Showing off my project in this forum has a bigger effect on the progress than I have dreamt of - thank you!. Your feedback is important to me, pushing me further to get it right. Giving the car more weight and presence is an interesting hint. And I will try hard on improving the light and render setup - materials too. The next updates will show some improvements.

I have choosen this project because the stories this 61 Ferrari 156 has to tell had a deep impact on me. This car is beauty and beast. I don`t know any F1 which stands for more drama than this. And unlike other Ferrari F1 cars there is no known survivor.

To understand the car and "dive into history" I have to do it in such a detailed way. And I
appreciate the fact that you like it.

with best regards

JensP

Looks fantastic JensP!! The attention to details on everything is great. It's my plan to do the engine for my MGA, im not sure im looking forward to it . Love the wire wheels too, they look very nice.
I would agree, the only thing that takes away from the fantastic model is the render. Has a kind of toonish style to it, but i know your working on the renders so i look forward to the updates.

Hi,

this is a small update. I tried to improve the light setup and worked therefore on the front cover.

Due to several severe software errors, those side ducts cost nearly all my nerves and a lot of time.

Lucky me - a backup file of the front cover rescued some hard work.

Further updates will include a smoother windscreen and the tires need some more "ballooning".

More to come next week.

Thanks and with best regards

JensP
