pretty much done...just need the vents and the sliding panel on the side windows...the plastic part inside the headlights is pretty innaccurate, but until i can get a decent pic, ill have to leave it...one of the joys of modelling a car when almost all the pics you can find are 600x400 or smaller

cheers pedro

did some unpainted renders...although the CF map kinda dissapeared when i resized it (mind you it hides the dodgy Box UVW mapping haha)...but still, it looks tough like that, unlike the Disney/Pixar Toy Story Racing scheme that one of them has... ...Toy Story...they even have a guy in a Buzz Lightyear suit who goes around with their race queens, who are also dressed up as Woody or Buzz Lightyear...how cheesy is that...

EDIT: also, i think the glass panels on the side windows are inside each other, so the refraction looks really weird...only just noticed that...oops

sweet model man, and the renders look really awsome Great work, did you use an hdr or a gradient ramp? and the headlights look perfect too, i think it might look better if u added some contrast to the image

I was sure it was a photo on the thumbnail. And I thought it was actually one during one second, when full picture appeared. Impressive ! It's hard to believe, but you're still improving your skills.

Keep us updated.

man Iain, you definitely keep amazing us.
I'm curious now as to what you think is the thing that most of all gives your renders this ultrarealistic touch? Is it the high-detail modelling, the lighting, the materials ?

"to infinity and beyond!"...

thanks for all the nice comments again

fixed a whole bunch of innaccuracies, including the headlight casing...havent fixed the glass refraction though...theres another skin for this car too, the No.31 Doublehead MR-S

@spitty3d: yeah, those ones are a bit flat and faded, i should have done some tweaking in PS

@SNEJKi: fun...i plan to animate them sometime later, most likely stuff that i can practice compositing with in AfterEffects and Final Cut Pro...maybe make a small video inspired by the intro to Gran Turismo 1 (heres a link incase anyone hasnt seen it )

@advan: lol...yeah, youd better finish it...that reminds me, nismo has actually decided to replace *all* the 350zs instead of just two, so now theres 5 GTRs, they announced their entries a couple of days ago...and theyll probably look just like the ones i already made before, seeing as they all have the same sponsors this year

@younglion: its VraySun, VraySky and VrayCamera...you just chuck the sun and sky in and move it to where you want, then adjust the VrayCamera like you would a real camera (best way is to play with a real camera first)...youll probably need to adjust it in PS afterwards, because its not perfect

@Xoliul: hmmm...probably lighting and materials more than the model...see, you could make a cube or a sphere look real...you need accuracy so that it your model looks like what you want it to though, obviously ...like, if you make an innaccurate car for example, it can look like a cheap kit car, a scale model, or in the worst case, nothing like the car at all lol...but you would still be able to make it look like it was a *real* object with materials and lighting

wowzers man, looks almost real life like, the thing which gives it away and needs work on are the lights, they don't look lit up, because they arent giving any light off, there should be a little glow, brightening the cover.

Wow!
You made a wonderful work. I think I would never do smth like this.
And lst renders are just fabulous. But I think just lights don't look at the same level as the body. But man love this thing!

Thumbs up

It is rally amazing how good looking those renders are, could you share the settings of the vray camera because I have never used a proffesional camera and I have no idea what should the vallues of the shutter speed or the film speed be, and are only those two of an importance to the image

done the Doublehead MR-S, teammate to the Toy Story MR-S

also, ive updated the SC430 to the DTM looking 2008 version...a hell of alot more fins and vents than before...ill have to unwrap the new parts and place the stickers accordingly

and Dr. Feelgood has jinxed me in the front page newsletter it looks like im going to have to wait a bit for the new cars to be shown...the Epson team has already missed their 31/1 release of their new NSX...theres not enough pics of the new RX7 yet...the WRX could be new...the Porches could be new...the 350zs will most likely be updated...the Mosler will probably have a new sponsor...i dont feel like doing the lambos because lots of other people have already modelled Murcielagos and Gallardos...i could go on lol

ill have to think what to do next...i can finish off the Vemac 408R i suppose since itll be the same...or make the ASL Garaiya, or Ford GT...ill start the generic racing driver model when my Zbrush DVDs arrive
