righto, more 2008 updates...the Houzan Cosmos SC430 from before was wrong, its now sponsored by Petronas (they just ran the early test session with the Houzan Cosmos stickers)...and also the new RE Amemiya RX7

these ones arent finished yet cos i havent actually seen the back of either...ive just added filler for the moment...theyre also missing some smaller stickers which i cant make out with what reference is available right now

@tom: as i said, im updating it to 2008 cars, which are just slowly coming out

ah thanks for the insight,
looks awesome man, how have you got such clear textures within Max's viewports? I can never get that quality to show up,and man you model fast, without a loss of motivation it seems...

this is just a small fix...i put "Synmoto" on the car, and later i found out it should have been "Syntium" which is some sub-brand oil thing from Petronas

also just decided to have a quick play around with doing a layered render (the car and the road were rendered separately)...mostly so i could do the motion blur in photoshop...kinda faded it too, but ohwell...that can be fixed

@crazy989: in the DirectX driver settings where you can pick the viewport texture display sizes, theres a checkbox that says "Match Bitmap as close as possible"...but your texture has to be bigger than 1024x1024 for it to do anything...also, when the textures are big and youre displaying them, it chews through memory, so i only have it on when im making sure the skin is correct...youll get the dreaded "silent crash" if you keep it on and try and do lots of stuff

@mikolc: yep, the grey one is the RX7

Excellent render. It suffers a bit from the usual drawback of motion blur on wheels and fenders (that is, the fender is really sharp while the wheel is blurred, and that contrast is unrealistic) but otherwise it's a really nice work.

Keep us updated, please !

Yes indeed it looks very nice!!! But the road seems tooo dark compared to the tyres. IMO change the road to a color closer to the tyres so it blends a bit.

thanks for the comments again...that last one is a bit too blurry in general...if id used motion blur in 3dsmax it would have been much better, but it takes ages to render...and there is a driver, but its just another biped

...oh look, the Houzan Cosmos car is back...they just changed to sponsoring the Team Kraft SC430, and i had to make a whole bunch of new brush stroke graphics because they changed them :x...i think the grey, yellow and brown swishes are actually going to be metallic or chrome...well thats the impression i got from their announcement PDF thing anyway, it wasnt actually a photo

also just started the 997 GT3 RSR, and my zbrush training DVDs came so ive started the driver/pitcrew model aswell (although i gotta go through the vids a few times and get used to zbrush before itll start to look interesting...)

a few cars coming up, the 2008 ASL Garayia has appeared, theres definetly a Lexus IS250/IS-F to replace the Celica (which is alright cos i already modelled an IS250 a while ago), the 350zs are sticking around, and the ferrari Jim Gainer team is upgrading to an F430...although i think ill just skip that one for a while cos crazy989 is going to be doing one sometime soon...i think...

there also might be a BMW Z4M, and...*drumroll*...a Corolla Axio...
