I got a shot of the back and front, but they have A LOT of perspective in them (almost like looking at the car trough a fishbowl :/

About modelling without blueprint, you may do the following as an helper :
- Create a box sized accordingly to real dimensions of the car (length, width, height) - Use car tracks and footing to create a rectangle (or not exactly a rectangle if rear and front tracks are different) - Position it in the box : use the radius of a wheel (rim + tire thickness) as the height the rectangle should be. - Create cylinders for wheels, using rims and tire dimensions. This way, you've got a cheap workbasis. Nice start so far, great choice of car ! ![]() ![]() Currently project : Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster Previous : Marcos 1800 GT (60's winner), Ariel Atom II (LightIsRight winner), SuperSeven (WZA #4) See my work and my tutorials on www.thomasbaron.net |

been a while and I restarted after I found a side and front print of this car.
![]() This time I started on something different first though... the rims. this should be pretty much the final version, if I can decypher the writing on the edge I'll add that to, but for now this will be it. Now all I have to do is actually finish the rest of it ![]() *Warning* the one with the 4 black rims is very high res (2560x2028 ) ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by darth carth : 10-23-2007 at 04:37 PM. |

Nice to see you're still working on it. One more active entry for the contest.
Great work so far, I can't wait to some ... euh ... actually, an actual car on these rims ![]() ![]() ![]() Currently project : Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster Previous : Marcos 1800 GT (60's winner), Ariel Atom II (LightIsRight winner), SuperSeven (WZA #4) See my work and my tutorials on www.thomasbaron.net |

lol you and me both then
![]() I did the front spoiler again with a much better polyflow, unfortunatly I haven't had the chance to render it yet, but I'll try to post some shots of that including a wire tommorow. This car is a pain to model though.. so many curves and lines to keep in mind :? but I'm still motivated. As a side note I mentioned that I drove along in this on Zolder during a trackday.. and there is a video of that. So for those interested in this car (and more specificly the amazing sound of that "small" 4 in line engine, check this video out (off-topic: if you check out my other videos on youtube you'll also find a video from inside a Viper RT/10 on the same day and track.. and notice how pafethic it sound is compared to the small 340R )![]() ![]() Last edited by darth carth : 10-25-2007 at 06:26 PM. |

as promised the renders from yesterday.. and also an update.
The front part of the chassis is still a very huge WIP, loads of bumps and pinches, wavy lines... I was suprised about how hard it actually is to resolve as much pinching as possible with all the curves that melt together. Around the area where the mirror is going to be there is a curve from the window, the center curve (that goes across the headlight, and the main curve of the bodywork which all melt together.. Sumarized.. this car is a pinch fest ![]() anyway C&C is always welcome offcourse... ![]() (ps: could someone link me to where this Point system is explained? This was implemented when I was inactive on this forum.. and I got no clue what it is or why it's there :/ ) ![]() ![]() Last edited by darth carth : 10-26-2007 at 05:55 PM. |

it's looking good. I know how hard it could be to work without prints. The wires look promosing but you can't tell much out of the render, do you have a 3ds max shot? with just a grey model so we can check for bumps? Thanks
