Thanks, IceKid84

Thanks for your reply! I too have never really thought of Chevy as a modern day HOT car producer, I've always left that sort of work to Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo, etc, etc... But they really went all out on this one!

Anyway, thanks again for the comment!

Nice renders, you've done a long way. I agree about the edges, I'm looking forward to see another render from you.

Keep us updated.

the renders are very nice but i think the paint is a bit too specular at some parts add some blurriness to the reflection and it will look better. keep it up

I know the new Chevy is very shiny but like mentioned before some tone down with just enough specularity to emphasize the contours of this vehicle would work wonders...

And yeah, lets see some decals and stripes on it.

Also....to show off the vehicle better...can you use a non black bg or just use a neutral background say grey?

Usually black tends to hide a lot of details especially if your car for one is silver in color.

@ Tom: Thanks!
@Younglion: Thanks for the Input! I agree with you on the Reflections being over done! Thanks again!
@peterliang: Thanks you for the feedback! You made some good points! Thank you!

UPDATE:

Well, these are not the finals...... Yeah thats right I'm STILL trying to get a nice render setup going!

Plus I'm having a whole lot of issues with my computer, and/or Mental Ray! (not sure which is the culprit yet.)

Anyway, Any time I try and Render my scene with the Displacement Maps applied to my tires.... Mental Ray Crashes! It just stops dead!.... End Of Render! I've tried turning on/off the FG, and the GI.... I've tried playing with the AA settings.... You name it... Still nothing! But when i Render the tire on It's own. It works fine! One of my friends said that it could be a Memory/Graphics issue (basically... My computer is too weak to render such a large scene.)

Now this shouldn't be a problem for too much Longer, as I'm going to be modeling the tire, But I also get this issue when I put an HDRI image in the scene.

So if any of your Maya Freaks, have any suggestions... PLEASE let me know! I can't Render My final shot, without these vital features!!!

Anyway, Heres a couple of renders I've done. Just basically played around with a few different setups, and other junk like that.

Dark Studio Render (with lights on, as requested):

Light Studio Render (with new Primer style Paint applied): With Stripes!!! Whoo!

And one last one for all you Transformers Fans!!!!!:

I have all of these Rendered out at 1200x1000. Am I allowed to post those size images here? For now I will leave them at 900pixles.

C&C More than Welcome!

These aren't my final Renders..... There more like fun Renders! While I try and figure out whats wrong with my computer/Mental Ray!

Thanks again for the input all!

For sure you can post the full resolution pictures here, but by using the attachment system.

The first render looks really aggressive, but it's way too dark on some places, and too bright on others. Try to add lights at the front and above the roof, and reduce lighting on rims.

The second render is better lightened, but the black plastic material in front grid is way too dark. Stripes looks good.

And the Bumblebee render is just ... lovely. Congratulations ! The only critic I have applies to all render : there is a weird little thing behind the bulge on the hood. What is it ?

Keep us updated, you're doing great !

Thanks you for the great comments Tom.

Could that bulge sticking up from behind the hood be the window wipers?... Thats all I can see!
I'll have to take a closer look!

Anyway, I've attached the full sized Bumble Bee Render!

Thanks again!
