You should detail a part before trying to get the whole body. As you're missing a lot of edges and details on your current model, you'll have to work again on each part. This 2-pass process is really boring, trust me. It may lead to give up on the car.
Edit : by the way, the car is named 350Z and not Z350, isn't it ? ![]() ![]() Currently project : Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster Previous : Marcos 1800 GT (60's winner), Ariel Atom II (LightIsRight winner), SuperSeven (WZA #4) See my work and my tutorials on www.thomasbaron.net |

I think I can't help you now with a definitive solution. I'm facing almost the same problem with my current WIP. Stay tuned, I'll post hints as soon as I find some

Its quite simpel to say whats wrong with it, fix it is harder.
The problem is that the big poly to the left is 5 sided, and to big to make it smooth out right. The way i can think of to fix it is to make a bigger chamefer before u delete the "hole area" so the poly gets smaller and u can make another chamfer when you cut out the hole. Not sure if it works but always try to stay to 4 side polys. Good work btw EDIT; make sure not to mess up the body shape when you do a chamfer before you make the hole Last edited by Svampen : 12-24-2007 at 04:04 PM. |

I think your problem is caused because the poly near the corner is large and not parallel to corner and its a 5-gon.I dont know the rest of your wire so i just based a solution on the wire you showed. That might work or might not.Trial and error.
Green edges : Move them to red.Or just delete them then draw red lines Red lines : Explained above. I know the source of Tom's problem aswell. The thing is some programs like 3dsmax and blender dont enjoy smoothing a "corner that ends as a triangle".I faced the same problem with my Murcielago on lots of corners, since that car has very difficult-to-model edges but fixing based on that idea worked for me and for some else modelers. |
