Looks really smooth mate, bit hard to tell with shaders as its not the best ligthing setup

Lol you need more lighting and specular on your paint to gain those reflections. You also need to place some sort of environment so the car can reflect on like a HDRI map or something.

lol guys, there are zero lights in the scene atm. just threw on the shader and changed the color to see how it looks. quick question: i have heard of hdri, but i have no idea how to use it. is there a tutorial somewhere i can follow? thanks in advance.

HDRI is used along with vray most of the time. It stands for high dynamic range imaging. HDRI is a highly revolutionized image of an environment that we use to get the reflections of the environment on the car rather than modeling out a whole scene to get the reflections. If you have vray installed then select it as your render engine and press on the "get material" button and then click on "HDRI", then simply browse and select an available HDRI image. You can find free HDRI images on the internet just use google to help you find some.
