Im not too sure with Vray, but in Mental ray the dark patches come from The FG or GI emitting Photons, if you find the photons in the Vray settings, turn it up higher. But im not sure, since its Vray

I don't think it the photons, because I think I have them turn off. but I'll double check that tonight.
any of ideas?
