How can this be a place for WIP? Your WIP looks finished!
I wish there was a section for Beginning WIP... Great job on the car, one of my fave classics.

Thanks all for the replies!

Prykie - i gather you like 'em chubby (-:

ibeam -- the 2-door sedan bodystyle has been present since the days of yore. The model year 53 had a business coupe with a shortened greenhouse and no rear seat, the proverbial traveling salesman's driver, which was discontinued in 54. The regular 2-door sedan shared the greenhouse with the 4-door sedan. A bit of twaking and vertex/edge stitching will convert this model into a 2-door. But only after it 's fully done and revised, lest the nightmare of correcting multiple models will take place...

tom, tiberius, carme-- thanks!

Nik -- well the Volvo was aimed at the American market, in a way it embodied some American styling ideas. I must agree with you regarding the taillights, while the front was definitely 55 Chrysler-inspired.

Tol@te -- yes the 54 Chevy is the quintessential bread-and-butter transportation but its homely stance is appealing somehow. I was spurred to model it after seeing the movie "The World's Fastest Indian" in which Anthony Hopkins purchased a light green/white 54 210 to make his way to Daytona. I read that 3 cars were used for the movie, one of them a 53 in disguise.

Progress. Chevrolet lettering to be done before i get to the interior. I have replaced the Bel Air hubcaps for "dog-dish" 210/150 ones.

The roof looks a bit un-smooth in the rear.
I love it, as always

I have to say that the more pedestrian cars of yesteryear seem to be more desirable than their expensive counterparts. these are great! especially the Bel Air sedan.

Thanks Tol@te, NightEye and tiberius

Yes the Cuban taxi. That would be a texturing exercise, and remove some of the chrome here and there, create dents around, maybe miss a hubcap or two, make it a bit lopsided. This idea is growing on my mind, maybe someday it will take place. Thanks for bringing it up!

It's about time i did Dad's 53 Two-ten. Here it is:
