The body structure looks really good thus far, though the camera perspective is a bit tight, and some wire shots would be great, but overall I like the smoothness so far.

Nice to see a WIP from you here.

You have some bumps on the rear end. Please check the attached picture. The largest red square means : I think that area should be rounder. Please check with this refpic : http://www.sitimmo.com/images/articl...aguar_xf_7.jpg

This looks really really good. I mean even the structure is clean and sexy. THe car looks great, I particularly love the headlights, they are nice and detailed and clean as well. I have no gripes what soever with your progress thus far. Ive never used this program myself, but do you have any base structure wire shots? (no smoothing)

After some time I still made my tests.

3h rendering (oops my normal rear window reverse side:
-under "neatimage" as I was advising
Not yet convinced by the shader gum tires (yes sculter not for the moment ) and headlights

5h rendering (glass side correct  )
-under "neatimage"

Great update, MARTS. Indeed you're right about your shaders, you need some extra work on them. Your scene also need work : the chrome grill at the front end looks poor beause of lack of reflections, IMHO.

Otherwise model looks right. I'm only concerned by your rear-way sensors, they may be just a bit small : http://i2.paultan.org/i/SISMA_Jaguar_XF_2_Large.jpg

Will be able to afford longer render time for final renders ? Because lighting quality is not top notch yet with an unbiased renderer.

Keep us updated, it's nice to see updates from you here !

Yes Thomas .
Luxrender does not forgive the wrong setting. As Mental Ray lol.
I did not shoot because currently my poor PC is tired lol

MARTS, it's amazing how you modeled this with blender. I have tried blender once and thought it isnt worth trying, but you proved me wrong. Really good modeling. Only think needed is some work on shaders and render. BTW, how long did it take you to model this?

After several days without touching the XF. This time I change rendering engine. I went to Yafaray 0.1.0

First test:

There are still error style of the car that flies: lol: good but I was training.

Nice to see you're still working on this one !

Nice use of Yaf(a)Ray, you have to improve the lighting quality because shadows under the car are really noisy at the moment. I'll post some settings I'm using later, if you need some help (which I doubt of )

The outdoor render looks much nicer than studio ones : you have to complicate the studio setup a bit because the paint looks completely flat there. It has only two colors, one where it reflects a white plane and another where it doesn't.

A modeling critic : you should really add cover to your headlights.

Keep it up, this project is coming along really nicely !
