1952 Lancia 2000 B52 Aurelia Coupe

Hello folks

Time for another project, this is for my own portfolio.
Not everyone will like this design. It struck me like George Barris had had a go at an Aero Bermuda: chopped roof, split toothy grille, low-slung stance due to the skirted fenders. The American custom scene must have had a strong influence on this. Or the other way around.
I may play with the color scheme later, although light blue and white are the real colors on the one-off example.
Here's 2 day's work in progress.

Thanks for watching!

Ah Dan, I've been waiting for a new project update from you. I always enjoy seeing you work and this is going to be another nice addition to your portfolio, I honestly don't know how you do all these things.

It's a neat little car and I like the color-scheme you have going. Here a pic of a healey with a pacific green color that looks almost just like it that I absolutely love! Austin-Healey 100-6 Pacific Green

look forward to seeing more updates on this.

Thanks all for the replies!

R0cky - aqua and ivory look stunning on the Austin- Healey, and believe me, not every sports car (bar the 2nd generation Corvette) handles two-toning that well. In fact although two-toning may be considered by many as plain garish, i firmly believe that when it is good-tasted, like the 56 Chevrolet options, it adds a lot to the car.

ibeam, alexL, tiberius, prayas, Niko -- thanks fellows!

Provided they are from the 50s through 60s, European cars have a soft spot on my heart and my wishlist of to-be German, French, Italian and British 3d models is evergrowing. I haven't given up hope of doing that Vauxhall Victor...

Shilpinator and Erik_S - sadly the interior can't be seen much on the references, so it's a bit of guesswork and the usual basic layout. Both the upholstery and the dash follow the exterior two-toning.

The curious thing about this design is the absence of the characteristic "shield" grille. The "cathedral" taillamps were a handful to complete, probably because i started them wrong (-:.

Mmm, I love the design of this car, one of my favorite European cars from this era. And a very exquisite model, as usual

Wow! Cool! I never even knew such a car existed. It totally looks like a Barris rod. Its cool your choice of models, I also get educated on some obscure cars I never knew about. Living in the USA there are a lot of cool eu and asian cars we never get to see.

Thanks shilpinator and Mr.So Much,

And here is the complete car save for the nameplates.
I switched to Aqua and Ivory, and checking info on the web i learned the interior is grey and white, but color-keyed to the exterior would be nicer. Also the restored example has twin conical, 60-sportscar-style sidemirrors but i don't know if i will use them.
