I have seen the hight level of your model and I hope don't disappoint you
It my first post in SMcar and I have made a aston martin restyled with Blender and yafaray for render engine
I have finished the modeling (exept some detail), and I begin the texturing
I have already post my project in two website (in french, sorry):

I wait your comment
if you want some detail, don't hesitate

Welcome here, grafiks. I've seen and commented your project on BlenderClan (ThomasBaron, as you may already have guessed )
I hope you'll enjoy your stay here. But I'm sure you'll get constructive feedback.
Try to add a sun to your scene, to get more contrast. It's really hard to tell the surfaces of the car. Hey, it's even hard to distinguish the car from the background.

Hi and welcome to SMCars. Enjoy your stay here!
Honestly, I can't see too much in this render. You should work on your lighting settings. I'm sure that a lot of blender users can help you
Good luck
EDIT: Tom was faster

juste (fr) != just (en)
juste (fr) == right, correct (en) : the right settings
For Yafaray interior renders (as your scene is almost one) I use this tutorial : really good results ! Getting started with YafaRay and Blender 3D for interior design
Hope it helps.

The car and the interior scene is great. I like it to put cars in complete scenes. I am waiting for the texture. Keep on going

Please post a pic of the error screen. It could be a wrong shader, which is not supported by the renderer, the scene is too complex and your computer does not manage to render the scene or your texture memory is overloaded by too many and too big textures.
But it could be more to crash your program

I second Big Ron. Please post the Yafaray full error message.
Which hardware are you rendering with ? Because 3h for the render you posted is overkill. It may be either low-end hardware, or useless quality settings.

Or maybe RonRon like in Harry Potter ? Just kidding of course, it's just more convenient to use full nickname of someone you don't know.
Oh, btw, call me Tom

hello
for this render, I have used yafaray and your tutorial Tom with the original settings (of this tutorial)
the scene haven't texture, just some shader
I have taken a screenshoot of the console and the settings of my rim shader
my computer can be overloaded because I haven't a great configuration (intel core2duo, Nvidia GeForce 8400m g 128mb, 2Go of ram (RAM memory)
I my scene, I have 427264 vertices

You have a pretty recent setup, just make sure your laptop is on AC and your CPU at full speed (as Intel SpeedStep is often activated as default on laptops)
Can you post a view of your Settings tab, and also of your World tab ?

where can I find this information, in the panel configuration of Vista or yafaray
my CPU isn't at full speed every time when I make a render but at ~50/~70%

I meant the Settings and World tabs from Yafaray, of course : they're visible on your previous Yafaray screenshot.
About the CPU being not at 100%, this is because you're still rendering with Threads = 1 (check it in the Settings tab) As you run with a dual core CPU, you should use at least 2, to make sure there is at least one thread per core.
What I meant about the frequency is not the number of cores or the load of the CPU. A laptop Intel CPU with SpeedStep technology can downclock itself on its own, to save some power. Saving power is a good thing, but it's obviously not what you want when rendering. So check the CPU frequency in your computer properties (if you're running with Windows) to make sure you're using the full power of your laptop.

You should focus first on getting your model finished, then you'll have plenty of time to build a scene and play with shaders.
About the model, you should work on surface smoothness, because reflections are really weird, and it ruins your project a bit. Also, the windows/windshield are looking thickness-less. Are they a simple surface ? If so, Yafaray can't compute proper refractions, so the bad result.
---
(french version as the thread's author and me are both french )
