Great set of meshes nice and clean, I bet the hot rod version is going to be even better.

Nice car Alex. It seems like the Hergé drawing cars, you know. Could you make any cartoon render? I would like to see one ...

I second that! My only crit -- a small one -- is that the front fenders look a bit flat on the top.

thanks for the comments

@ P A L A T - it was indeed flat, infact it was one flat poly which i corrected, thanks for pointing that out

i got a solid few hours of work done on it today, started on the engine as well as seperated some of the panels, added a few more exterior bits, did clay renders for these, less boring then just screen caps

heres a smallish update, i've mostly been working on other projects this week, and fighting me has been the flu and a power outage, plus my mouse decided to stop working on me today (grr) but enough complaining, heres a few pics, mostly worked on the engine as well as added the rumbleseat

@ joe- thanks for pointing that out, i checked my ref again and sure enough i created that fan out of pure imagination i'm trying to be as accurate as possible so if anyone notices anything else thats not quite right it would be much appreciated!

im shooting for the modelling to be done in the next week so i can get my materials and final renders sorted, so expect a bigger update soon

thanks for the comment so i've modelled about as much detail as i can given my time frame, im sure more could be done but i'm satisfied with what i have

i've begun normal mapping some parts and doing materials, heres a few of my test renders, please excuse the bad lighting/the fact that the paint doesn't line up haha

@ orion - its the mental ray carpaint shader, doing all my rendering with mr

okay heres a few test renders, theres still a zillion little tweaks i needta do but its nearing completion for now, im going to rig the hood so it lifts properly, its just one piece right now, and do some detailing of the inner door panels

for now im just going to do some studio renders but i'm planning to take the whole car into mudbox to dirty it up a bit and put it in a scene with an old railroad station or maybe a farmhouse, and it'll still get hotrodified at some point too
