Tuned Punto

This is my Fiat Punto project it started life as me modeling my girlfriends car for her but stock is boring lol.

So i set about drawing a body kit which is inspired by an EVO 6. I think it suits this car down to a tee.

I removed the back seats and boot to create the ICE install I also drew a nice set of bucket seats and a momo steering wheel.

Whats left to be done:

Finish texturing intercooler

Create mesh for the bonnet vent and the bumper

Iorn out the lumps and bumps in the body work

Texture the interior

add more detail to the boot install i think a strut brase some 6 x 9's

I think ill model under the bonet also i think the engine from the fiat coupe will lok good just got to find some ref pics.

PLease feel free to critisize my model it helps to create a better model.

Really like what your doing here. I can see only one small glitch in the trunk...
what I'm really interested in are some wires ... and PLS let us see that interior and that dashboard

There is a few things missing i havent modeled the indicator stalks, the gear nob and the pedals ill have to add them on to my list of things to do.

The pic of the engine is how detailed im going to model this one i drew that with google sketch up back in the day before i discovered the daddy that is 3ds max i used maya inbetween but naturaly 3ds is by far the best.

looks really great man would probably be better to texture on actual logos instead of making your own tho, it'll help it have a more realistic feel

Heres some better renders of the whole thing.

Stupid question lol how do i do a polly count the body is quite low polly i think its the interior and them meshes which are verry high polly.Tuned Punto-punto-22.jpg

The lights arent quite right need to turn shadows off for some of them im not happy with the metal flake in the paint it doesnt look right.Tuned Punto-punto-23.jpg

I had to reinstall 3ds it wouldnt render i reinstalled it and all is now good it must have been the sp1 update all was fine before i instaled that. 3ds 2010 isnt the most stable program in the world i get alot of crashes with it, i think it might be down to my system tho.

IIRC, hitting "7" will bring up stats in your viewport, poly count, frames per second, etc. This project is so awesome, and yet, kinda funny...

its my best yet i done 5 so far the last one i didnt finish tho im gonna see this one through tho i have suprised myself how good it has come out.

Thanks for the tip on how to get up my polly count its 557,961 and still got a load of things to model lol im gonna need a better processor and another gig of ram to render it when im done lol.

Now running a render of what i have done so far in the interior its time consuming achieving this level of detail lol.

looks pretty good so far dont get hung up on money at this point, not to discourage you but you've got alot of practice to go still i think just keep at it, on a whole i think your materials are a bit too shiny but its progressing quite well, don't let anyone stop you from modelling
