My turn to show some WIP...

Still needs a lot of work, so I will post some other pics when progress is made.

All modelling is done in Amapi 3D, rendering in Cinema4d

Amapi? Dude, you deserve a medal. That's one of the most bizarre 3D progs I've ever come across.

Great looking car, too. Can't say I've ever seen one. Keep us updated.

so not only is he a guy that donates a lot of prints but he models as well. And models well too. Looks great good to see some old cars being made. I look forward to progress.. heeh keep us updated

Yes, Amapi was a change for me too when I first fired it up
However, once You know how to use it, it is one of the most capable modelling apps available - trust me, I tried many others too and also have Cinema 4d, Strata Studio, Pixels 3D ( Mac-only ), Bryce and Truespace ( PC-only )

The car itself was the backbone of Peugeot production after the war, built from 1948 to 1960. Still hundreds of them around today.
I own one myself ( 1950 model G3 estate ) so I have a pretty accurate reference then...

The red car in the picture below is a later model ( bigger rear window, different gutter and other minor details ), but gives a good overall view.

The other picture shows my own car - after removing the pile of junk that covered it - when I found it in France. It still is in the loooong process of a total restoration...sigh...

Hi all, here' s some kind of an update...

In my home- town, we have a biennial " week of culture " with several happenings, including an exhibition of work by local artists.
Being a painter and freelance illustrator myself and having participated in the event over the past 20 years, I was asked a few months back to send in some work.

I agreed to send 1 painting and 1 3D- work.
Since it' s been pretty busy during the past months, I did not have a suitable 3D- work ready ( today was the deadline to bring in the work... ) so I decided to use the 203- model to create one...

Well, the locals already know me for my paintings of rusty vehicles and stuff, so they will not be shocked by more of these :wink:

Over the past few days, all textures were drawn, and last night... er... this morning at 5 (!) I could start the rendering ( 4967 x 3513 pixels for high-res output on A3+ Photopaper )
At 3 o'clock this afternoon I could hand it over - framed and all...

The image itself is not exactly how I wanted it to be, due to lack of time - but I plan to make it into something nice one day. ( the cars are placed in a barn, but I want some background and other stuff in it )
