My first Jaguar model.
Here is the first Jaguar I've modelled. I admit that I have little interest in Jaguars road-cars, but I love some of their racing cars. The XJR8's and XJR9's particularly interest me.
This model of the XJR8 was started not too long ago. The polygon count seen here is not much more than 1400 polygons now. It does include some details that you can not see here. Front air-intakes will be created with colour-keys, rather than physically modelling the openings for the air-intakes. I also need the following info if any of you can provide it: 1. Interior photos: Need some interior photos for the XJR8. These are required for when I model the interior. They must be from the XJR8 and not the XJR9 - this for the sake of accuracy. 2. Technical data: I'm looking for detailed line drawings, particularly showing suspension geometry, and measurements. I'm also looking for other technical data such as dyno-test data, and information on downforce levels at very speeds, and whatever information can be found on suspension setup. Also needed is gear ratio and final drive information. Any other information detailing handling characteristics (eg videos of someone driving it quickly, or reviews) will also be useful. 3. Sound recordings: I'm looking for whatever sound recordinss of the XJR8 or XJR9 that can be found. They should preferably be from inside the car, and have at least a reasonably level high RPM sound at some point. Sound without much compression is much preferred, for the sake of quality. If I can obtain reasonable sound recordings/samples of the real car, I can do sound-effects for this car quite easily. ![]() ![]() "There we are ladies and gentlemen, we're through Mach 1, the speed of sound, no bumps, no bangs - Concorde" Latest photo: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Singa...130/L/A380-841 - Singapore Airlines |

My first Jaguar model.
Oh, I probably should also mention that the front wheel-arches will be smoothed out using colour-key transparency method as well. It will save polygons.
The real car for comparison can be seen in the attachments. I believe that it had various different bodywork and rear wing styles, depending on the track. I will probably model those as well, although initially Le Mans 24 hours configuration is my initial task. ![]() ![]() "There we are ladies and gentlemen, we're through Mach 1, the speed of sound, no bumps, no bangs - Concorde" Latest photo: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Singa...130/L/A380-841 - Singapore Airlines |

Yes. It's going into F1C 99-02.
That's why I need so much technical data for it. If it were an arcade game, I could compromise, but in a racing simulation, the physics data for the cars must be accurate or you won't be able to drive the car properly. ![]() ![]() "There we are ladies and gentlemen, we're through Mach 1, the speed of sound, no bumps, no bangs - Concorde" Latest photo: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Singa...130/L/A380-841 - Singapore Airlines |

![]() A small update, since I've practically not touched this car after I posted the last previews. New are the wheels, and what you see at the front of the car. You'll see that when the car gets in an accident and the front bodywork falls off. ![]() ![]() "There we are ladies and gentlemen, we're through Mach 1, the speed of sound, no bumps, no bangs - Concorde" Latest photo: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Singa...130/L/A380-841 - Singapore Airlines |
