Ford GT40 Concept (my first model)
Hi fellas! This is my firs model (at all), this is a result from couple days of work (summary). I hope I've done well so far, and I like to hear some opinions and tips about modelling with smooth proxy in maya. Lots of details are missing, but.. WIP

Sorry I didn't know the first wire was with meshsmooth turned on  and looking at the new wire I don't see any flaws.
edit: I was just thinking: would you mind putting this in gta:vc or letting me put it in gta:vc? I would love roaring down the streets of vc with this monster  . |

Good First model. Looks very smooth. I don't know the car so I do not know how accurate it is but it looks cool. I use the smooth proxy too in Maya and find it a great tool. I have half my model in low poly mode and then use the smooth proxy to reflect the smoothed out version on the otherside of the car, so basically you get a low poly version on one side and a high poly version on the other. I find this quite easy to see whats going on when moving vertices etc.
Keep up the good work. |

i wouldnt worry about the wheels polycount... there are wheels in some vice cars with higher poly than the car itself...
maybe what the author can do so he can still make a game and a render version is to make the car with minimal details... and then call it a game model, and later add the smaller details or add more detail to the already made parts and call it a render model... |
