Vehicle: Can you guess?

Here's another car i've been wanting to model for ages. The other day i found one for sale at eBay and it was so crammed with refpics that i decided this was the time.

Distinctively Fifties Ford styling. Not a Thunderbitrd though..
Yes an Edsel by Ford.

The Edsel is a case of marketing gone blind. In a nutshell:
In 1955 Ford decided it must envison a medium-price car that would fill the gap between Ford and Mercury, much like Pontiac-Olds-Buick from GM. So after extensive research they decided to produce the Edsel. Its launching was surrounded by a shroud of mystery and wonder, until in 1957 (1958 model year) the Edsel made its way to the dealers. And the public rushed to see what the wonder looked like. It looked just like any ordinary Ford. What was the fuss really about after all? It just did not sell like Ford expected. (Their worst expectation was 100,000 cars sold in the 1st year but they sweat to pull 61,000)
Then began the way downhill. It flopped hard. Edsels were offered as prizes in tv shows, and if you did buy one you would be jeered - "where did you win yours?" and feel like a real sucker.
Ford was not convinced yet and redesigned the car for 1959 in a horrid style. It made 1960 but then as a Ford with a 59 Pontiac-style grille and four vertical tailights.
What the public wanted were small cars - these were being imported from Europe at an increasing rate. Dearborn (and Detroit in general) was just slow to realize it.

I've done the rear bumper and updated the image.
Thanks for watching.

Time for small update, headlights, taillights, grillework.
In Gold/Black two-tone combination:

And in Chalk Pink/Snow White (there were several two-tone and a few three-tone color schemes, some garish but mostly good taste.

Still much work ahead before i can move to the interior.
