For the smooth edge, you could place a small polyrow in between.. Here's a pic of what to do and how it will look

thanks nighteye, but that's what I've done from the start.. :?
and let me clarify this:
do you want the edge to disappear? or do you want it to be less dark or...
sorry ops:

thanks

Well, according to refpics, it should be smoother
So no sharp edge (smoothinggroups), but just an extra polyrow, and let the verts be attached
That way you've got a nice and smooth, yet visible edge

The more you have, the closer to each other, the sharper your edge is
It's better now, but to be perfect, it should be just a little smoother

Argh I've tried for a while nighteye and anything I do makes bad normals and makes it sharper: I've tried widening the row and reducing the number of rows, and lining the chamfer up more with the surrounding rows, but nothing works :?
anyways, an update (this is getting to be a conversation between you and I nighteye rather than a thread  )
--cause no one else has things to offer...

anyways, here it is:
Clay A
Clay B
Clay C
Clay D
Clay E

Yellow A
Yellow B

Hmm.... well, sorry to have bugged you with that edge then... ops:
As for renders, I'm capable, but I think SF can do nicer ones

For example:
One of his renders: http://www.mm2x.com/upload/files/renderchrome5fgafg.jpg
One of mine: http://www.czmb.net/~sander/arjen/modena/modena4.jpg

@ ne: no worries, i may try and get back to it later
cool renders

@ element!: thanks

here are SF_PD's renders (although i have one request to you sf_pd: can i see a render with nothing changed around? like the black intake, the gray lights area, the black lights, etc)
otherwise, thanks sf_pd

also, just so you know people, those wheels aren't mine and aren't the final ones
i think renders of cars with wheels look much better than without, and apparently so does sf_pd
although they could be thinner...

@Element!...white box? :?

@EC...apparently not, my max ****ed up and i had to delete it. I have to "re-authorize" it. But for some reason it won't work.

Sorry for any inconvience this may have caused.

Three tiny updates in this post
--Light cover  (this will be less opaque when I get the headlights textured)
--Seam (this is a very quick change in poly arrangment, and please tell me if it doesn't serve the purpose)
--Rear light textures (tentative: once I find better ones, I'll replace them)

Images: (No clay images have been included because the updates didn't really change the normals)
