ok... some small updates... tweaked tire texture a bit and fixed some unsmooth surfaces.

My request: i'am looking for 'cooling ribs' texture - or photo. I can't find any suitable one... I was allmost ready to model it out, but my computer would crash under heavy poly count

Make 1 link, create a spline for the whole chain, and array it along the spline, done

Anyways, it looks really good!

For the chain: i modeled just one chain, made a curve and used a spacing tool.

Murk: i have in plan to remodel it (its not functional)

i got some requests for the wire via. privat message system... so here they are:

(a bit large, so i didnt attach them)

The wire isnt soo clean, but i'am constantly fixing it... (trying to go with "4 - sided faces only" theory)

I only think the bottom of the windshield could be a bit cleaner, but for the rest, it's very clean IMO!
So is the end result btw; very sweet 8o

hehe... thanks, i will and its hard to start on such parts (engine)

... so i modeled something easyer (front brake disks). i think i'll do the brakes now, then start on the engine and exhaust pipes...

10x nighteye i really get a big kick from you (if you like it, than it must look ok), 'coz i noticed you really criticize only parts that are really important (curves on surfaces, meshsmooth bugs and wierd 'holes' ).

At first i thought the hole was 'cute', but then i added some more details to fit the gap... unsmooth version of attached render has 37k polys...

hope you all like it

oh... i started modeling cylinder of engine, but i deleted it, because i didnt like it, so...... i'll try again -> i think this will be the hardest part:
-its completley not symetrical - so i'll have to model both sides
-the pistons are shifted and rotated in all directions, not to mention all sorts of bumpy surfaces....
-and it has got to fit in my engine compartment....

i was wonderig if any one of you used displacment map to achive such large displacments... and if... how to do it in max7/brazil

Heh, yeah.. I always say what's wrong and important.. I never say like: "I really like how you did this, that!"...
But anyways, as long as you know I'm thinking it, and right now, I'm thinking it again!

most users only say: looking good, can we see wires, keep it up, can't wait to see it textured,... but that doesnt really help - why is it called wip then?!? we should only post the finnished models in this case, since the response is same...

ah, well...

today i modeled the foot 'thingy' (i really dont know how to call it )
the screws fit only in 2 holes, so you can have the height setting... lol
screenshoot only... polycount for visible is 52k/825k (with 2iterations meshsmooth)

i had to lower the iterations to 2, since my pc wont render full scene on 3

thank you... and yes... maybe we should have a smbikes.com as well

anyway... i managed to get the meshsmooth iterations back on 3, but changed the render engine to final render stage 1 (i guess it's more memmory eficient)... ok, here goes my first f.r. render with some updates
