Hi guys.

Well, as you can see, i'm new to this board yet.
Just been looking around so far but now i decided to step from shadow into light
Ahm, at this point i just want to show you my first car. Actually my second one but first "finished" one

As you can see i'm still having big troubles in modeling and rendering but i'm working on both

That's all 4 now, let the pics talk!

Comments and critics would be nice, thanks, bye.

Sorry for my good english, i'm german...

everything is perfect, but the carpaint reflects very high the environment and the backlights have bad materials

Thanks for stepping out of the shadows and showing us your work !!

The car looks wellmodelled but the black oclor makes it hard to see the nice details. Good job nontheless !!

Thank you for those nice comments so far!

As you can obviously see i had many problems with the light. Head and tail. Because of my lack of experience yet i was very hard for me keeping the mesh clean while getting more and more detailed. So at this point and in this mesh it was almost impossible for me to proceed with accurate modeling.

Btw, light source is a HDRI map. The image turned out not very hery quality (blurry ground and all those artefacts) but it has i nice warm color.
That's why i posted it. I also rendered it with Vray @ 1024*768 but it does not look very spectacular yet.
This model is not completely finsihed but for me this one definitely is

I'm trying to get some experience so i began a new one to get some feeling for the mesh.

K, thnx so far,

.alex

Try increasing sample range value (it's what it's called in Brazil but I'm not sure how it is in Vray) to smooth out all that noise on the background.

Thanks for your replies.
I guess i'm done with this one.
It seems i cannot change the taillights anymore cause obviously i ****ed the mesh up. Too many triangles instead of quadrangles (?), i can't seperate the taillights from the body, chamfering looks pretty weird then.

I'm working on a mitsubishi Galant right now, trying some technics like boxmodelling, just to figure out what the easiest for me.

But maybe i'm gonna start a Peugeot 306...
Because owning one is just the best reference you can get

Thanks anyways
