1999 Lamborghini Diablo SV

Well Hi all again. I feel I'm as bad as Redstar when it comes to showing things then quit on them... Well at least quit showing updates here. Anyhow I started this model 12 days ago and have been working on it little by little. It’s been fun though. However when I started I wasn’t intending to start an entirely new car. I actually was just going to update an old model I did a year ago. You see I’ve modeled the Diablo more times than I can actually count ( and that’s the truth) As usual with anything that’s your newest its usually your best, evoking all that you've learned with in it. Well this one is no different. I'm quite happy with it. Again I used the same method as the Esprit and Veyron to model it. Great for getting the body started, but leaves a mess sometimes. Anyhow what you see is just a starter. This car will get new wheels, new exhaust, new interior, mirrors, bumpers, etc the whole shebang. After it is done I will then proceed to use this as a base and create the other Diablo’s.

The current polycount is 16k.. Don’t have a goal count; just want to keep it under 50.

So far I’m happy with the shape... If I had to be my own critic Id say my front fenders are too thick and need to be lowered, and I need more chamfers and of course I need to model the intake above the headlight, which I'll try and do when I get back from my vacation. All the rest is obvious what its missing

Anyhow I'll try and do better and keep this topic updated

That looks great as always, looks like that technique suits well for you. I think I'll have another try for it too

Trying to find any mistakes on well done diablos always gives me a headache. When compareing to pics it kinda all works out but when you look at the model only it has this smthn you can`t just put your finger on... it`s just that diablo-thing for me I guess.

Maybe the windscreen could be a bit more bulgy (curveing with the roof a bit more). Maybe where the top of the a-pillart meets the roof could be a bit more curvy and smoother. Maybe the bottom of the windscreen could come out a bit more. Maybe you could provide a full on side pic (with perspective)?

Very nice work!

FlashG : Hey thanks mate, yeah its a fun technique , though its not all make mesh then apply the modifer.. the modifer can leave things messy so clean up is in order

Catlin : thanks, yeah its pretty.. but dont let it fool you.. it hides lots of trickery with in it

Tonn : indeed its good to know people model with eyeballing, its what shows 3d modeling as a true art. Yeah I believe you were right about curving with the roof. Ive changed that and Ive done some other stuff too. Sorry though no picture, since I have to get some sleep before my trip. Anyhow thanks for this critque

Venom : thanks bud, I'll be glad when shes finished hehe

T-Shine : thanks mate.. always nice to hear from you. Yeah I'm glad my structure passes your eyes as well so far. I'm still working with the rear, lots of areas that need improving. I find that the hardest part is getting the rear as it really is.. I dont think I'm there quite yet.

Nik : thanks glad you like

Anyone : Well sorry folks, no updates today.. Sure Ive had a day in between now and then to round something up but Ive been so busy. Anyhow I'll catch you all later.
