1939 Chevrolet Pickup Rat Rod
I'm working on a 39 pickup rat rod for an unannounced title. I wanted to post up my progress so I could get some feedback on suggestions to improve my work.
This is the reference image: ![]() And here is my current progress: ![]() Obviously I have a few adjustments that need to be made, I need to scoot the trim band up higher, decrease the drop on the hood sill panel, add the molding below the window , push the bonnet lip back further and add hinges. try new shots with a black background and the "Standard" gray material.. also please show the wireframe shots.
Very hard to see any detail the way you have it. ![]() Keith (MyersGRFX) Myers MG-Motorsports<br />Site Owner/Admin/Painter http://www.mg-motorsports.net WIP: 29 Chevy Pickup (Custom Street Rod) - http://www.smcars.net/forums/work-pr...treet-rod.html |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Don't affix yourself to any textures - they are temporary things I cranked out in a few minutes. This it the turning point in the design, from here I branched off and modified the stock cab as the rat rod was. I tilted the cab forward a few degrees, and knifed the bottom. I created some basic frame rails, and slid the cab down. I also adjusted the bonnet seam to be more like the rad rod, and I added a simple rear view mirror. The bed is pretty straight forward and basic. I also made a simple ford 9" rear end and crapped out some quick and easy tires for mock up. Still a very long way to go - but plenty of polys on tap. ah.. I can smell the un-catalytic converted exhaust fumes now. Last edited by Pyrex238 : 10-19-2007 at 09:18 AM. |

not bad... really hard to tell much with those renders. I'm sure this is gonna be sweet in the end though. Keep at it.

But first, I have to redo every part on the truck and up the polycount. This is the 20 foot LOD for the truck, from here I'll turbomesh each part with 1 iteration for the final, and then put a 4 pass iteration for the high poly normal map. |
