Yes,I use the good old and simple ZModeler v1.07b.
Its just because I know what I'm doing with it.
Well,I tried to learn Max,but the lack of time for this modeling makes it almost impossible to learn how to use it the right way.
To say it clear: I don't know how to model good in other programs.

And to make it even clearer...what is texture bake??
Modeling high detail, render it and make texture of that render to map on a lowpoly mesh??

Is it that?

...man I'm still a n00b after 7.5 years of modeling.I dont do it all the time, maybe thats the reason.

Works that way too, that's how I'm gonna do my textures with Pajero but it's not necessary to make hipoly model aswell. You can use lowpoly mesh to bake textures aswell

Great work man, but I think your skills are being limited by your software? If you'd get into something serious like 3DS Max or Maya, you could really push this to the next level.

Today I thought I could do a fast ingame test of the car.
Main reason is for chrome testing.San Andreas has not the best engine to animate chrome.
So it will be something close to chrome.
But better than just grey material for all chrome parts like too many cars have.
I dont get it,why do the dopest cars have no good chrome,or even something close to it.
But no,cool cars have grey chome...and that sucks!!

These pics are not the best quality. They dont show the final chrome,I'm still testing and playing around to find the optimum. And thats hard let me tell you.

C&C or tips what I could do better are welcome!

Love the chrome so far, it looks like you are doing well with it. The car looks great as said, but your wheels suck ( you had to know that was coming lol Anyhow so far I think its a winner (except the wheels)

Offtopic : The only thing I dont like about the GTA series is lack of realistic brakes and calipers. I mean I love sports cars and if a car cant have realistic turning calipers with brakes then its just lost a lot of appeal. Luckily with wheels of that style you dont have to worry about that.

@Icekid84
The wheels are from the base car I used.A default SA car called Oceanic.
That one will be replaced with the Chevy but not with these wheels. It was just for testing.

@Johnas
Thanks, I will do that!

After PMing to MindF*ck on gta forums,I know now how to do some nice chrome.
Now the bumpers got a texture from a chromebumper plus a selfmade refmap over all that.
I think it looks pretty good.
All thats left is that freakin "texture bake" that I wanna learn.
It would be awsome to do this car paintjob compatible.
All good cars got that feature.
Maybe I got to learn alot more but I would be happy with that only.
But now I got to go back to modeling instead of playing around all day...yeah no progress on the model itself.Oo...its time to give it some attention.

I also use the latest version of Dexx' GFX-Hack to make it look even better.

enjoy

Damn, it looks great, love the look of that chrome. With a baked bodymap, this car will definitely go into my game.

Thanks for the C&C guys!

Here is another little update.
I did the trunk today cause its simple and can be done fast.
Not too fancy but with a nice texture on the inside of the lid.
The trunkspace will recieve a nice tex,too if I find one.
What you see is not the final cutout of the lid.I just forgot to cut out the little part over the license plate.Just a detail but its visible with the black doorline on it.
Next step will be engine compartment and underbody.I will work more with textures than modeling every detail.
If its visible all the time,it will be modeled,if not, texture is enough.

Hey if you want to bake a texturemap with lighting for the body, you're going to have to use something else than zmodeller. I could explain how to do so in 3DS Max if you want.

Thank you guys so much!
I am a little confused by the possibilities for a bodymap.
For ZModeler I found a nice tut for unwrapping on GTAF plus some plugins I really needed.
They include a "eps" plugin for Photoshop so you can import UVs that come exported from ZMod.
With that you could draw a tex by using dodge and burn and othe handy tools in Photoshop.
But I dont want to look it like a painting or a cartoon car.

The other thing is I got Cinema 4D and a pretty old Max 4.2 that isnt even installed.
Its pretty much a mess when you dont know how to do it the best way.
Best bodymaps have the cars from Burner/MindF*ck.
That is the style I want for my car(s).

...now gotta read some tuts...

Hello Tol@te

Nice modeling. The interior is simple yet very effective, and i still think you should try that old MAX version to explore the program's possibilities. Provided it works with poly editing, preferably.
