Since he models with Zmodeler, that is the non-smoothed (no mesh-smooth in Zmod). He's just plain crazy to model with that dense of a wire 8o
Looks pretty smooth, though. Nice work EC

Re: EC PROJECTS [Porsche 911 GT3 996]

Hi EC
thanks for posting wireframe pics and those flat shaded ones (or aren't they... hmm maybe it looks flat shaded because you are using so many polys )

i'm currently using the 2.0.0.6 version of zmodeler and my model is generally quad based so it looks a little 'cleaner' although it probably isn't really cleaner *doh*

what kind of tools are you using? do you make a strip of a polyline and then modify it? or do you make a whole grid? to me it seems that you aremaking a grid and then maybe attaching it to the rest of the mesh, because the single rows look very straight if you ask me (merely thinking out loud :?)

i'm very curious about the materials you are using. would you mind sharing the specifications vor the body mat e.g.?

Re: EC PROJECTS [Porsche 911 GT3 996]

ZM modelers who model with planes are just plain crazy..
Strip is the best tool there is Perhaps ZM2 uses a different approuch though, I don't know that..

Re: EC PROJECTS [Porsche 911 GT3 996]

thanks guys
@ Silent: yeah i do each poly by hand as NE said.. i really don't know any other way and the "plane method" seems a lot more time consuming
and i guess zmodeler 1.07b (the version i use) is different, but there aren't really material specs or stuff haha my material is basically a 16X16 grayish color but i do use a reflection map umm if you really want it just ask cause i don't feel like finding it right now

i've updated a little but i'll post it later

for now, i'd just like to let you know i changed galleries, so those posted pics don't work...

Re: EC PROJECTS [Porsche 911 GT3 996]

M5 E39 (2001), what a killer machine And how I just love that car

If you need any refs on that one, just ring the bell (Or textures for headlights, I'll render them )

Porsche's looking great. Lovely seat textures too!
