My only crits ((for now )) are:

1.) Body lines look too round.. Think the edges need to be sharper

2.) The front, I know it's not done yet, but looks too round by the hood.

Thanks a lot guys!

@ Icekid84: I really appreciate that comment coming from you. Thanks man. And I already have the 787 (and a couple more LeMans champs) on schedule!

@ skb875: I'll check the edges on the body. About the hood, I have so many ref pics. Many of them show slightly different front hoods. I'm trying to model the 05 chassis version, which is a bit rounded; please see attached pic (the center air hole is still missing). Still need a lot of tweaking.

Cheers, Joe.

If you want you can do what i do and just select polygon tool, select the area where the decals will be and then make a copy of those polies. move them away form surface about .05 and then just apply decal too that. This way you can control it more and it wont project onto the other side.

This car is fantastic, how long did it take you to model what you've shown so far? I cant see anything wrong.

Hi guys!

Thanks all for such nice comments!

@ *RedStar*: thanks, that's a cool idea. I'll try it with decals on plane polys and if everything comes ok, I'll extend it to the whole body.

@ Dauer: it's cool you like the car, thanks man!. I decided to model this car after my little 6 years old son (good bless him) brooked up my 1/24" scale C9. I just let my baby keep the scale car and took the blueprints (18 years old!) and surfed the web. Tons of ref pics!.

I started it about mid march this year, and some nights, after work, I can sit at home and have fun with it. It's so cool you like it, but there are lots of places for improvement. In fact, I restarted all over again some time ago, because comparing my mesh flow with the fantastic cars showed in sites like this, I noticed I was completely wrong. The front has been corrected up to three times. This car has a simple and strong design, I think that's why it looks fine.

It has been so much fun so far that I have plans to model my other 3 lemmans scale cars, two of which already are making company to the C9 scale car (yeah, my son put his hands on three out of four!!!!)

I now check this site every time I can to pick up hints on how to improve my model, or on how to do some difficult parts; it's so good you can find so much talent and variety. Cheers to the creators of sites like this!

Sorry for the long story!

Regards to all and thanks, Joe.

Hi all.

I used some time tweaking the car shader (it was too bright) and trying to find a good camera angle.

Tires shader is giving me a lot of pain. Just can't get it appear as glossy rubber. I finnish with a material too dark or too plastic.

I don't really know if the pic feels too "cold" for a studio setup. The main issue here is the car being mainly silver and with big flat surfaces.

Will be great to read crits, coments and ideas.
