1965 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII

Im back with a new project, the beautiful Austin Healey! Yup doing another british sports car like my last project the Classic MGA. I am currently doing a complete "frame off" restoration of a real 65 Austin Healey 3000 so reference wont be a problem

I going to be building my model just like im doing on the real thing, from the frame up. I have no blueprints of the car so im working from sight, photos, and the parts catalog. I have started on the front of the main frame so here are a few shots of the progess so far.

This is a personal project so time may varry between updates, but i will try to post updates on even the smallest of things to keep everyone interested in it. Also if your interested in my real restoration of my healey just let me know and ill post some photos of it as well.

Thanks guys and hope you enjoy!
Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

That's a really impressive start. Nice to see another project built with every part (you should already know about Tom Sullivan's Camaro and Viper)

No critics from me, except the VRay watermark on your renders : is it there because you're using a demo version ? You top notch work suffers from such a PITA.

Keep us updated !

@tom120934: Thank you sir, yup I know about Tom Sullivans very impressiver work.
Ya I know, the vray water mark does suck. I am using the demo version I just dont really do enough 3D work to talk myself into purchasing the full version.

Why don't you take a look to a free software, Blender ? It will be a lot of work to learn another one, but as it's totally free, you won't be tucked in with such drawbacks.

really ncie start indeed!!

cant wait to see more.

and i for one would like to see some pictures of the real car

as for vray, TBH the only reason i use it is for vray proxis, where i can i use the defult one, becuase yes vray is a much better render, for profession renderings like movies, for the average chap like you and me we only use 10% of what it can do and that 10% can be done in the scanline render just my 10cents

but Keep up the great work

If you can turn, your not going FAST enough

@tom120934: Thanks for the suggestion, but i have played around with blender just a little bit and dont really like it all that much. Plus like you said it will take a bit of work just to figure out how to use it right and thats work i'll want to use for the model.
I'll figure something out down the road, but for right now its not all that important.

@Prykie: Thank you sir! It's good to see you again as well. Ya I'll usually work on a model project and then take some time away from 3D so i dont get too burned out on it. After my last project the MGA i just needed some time away from it

@tomsullivan: Thanks Tom! I too am very impressed with your work, your Viper project is fantastic so far and i will post some comments on it shortly. Ya I agree with you about Vray although Im willing to bet you know alot more about it than I do (btw i would love to get some pointers from you sometime). I will get you some photos of my real restoration asap, will probably later tonight.

Thanks again for the commnets guys!

Perhaps it would be just as nice to have an animation of the buiolt process since you're literally building it from cage to the exterior.
