well, i'm not sure how SketchUp defines the polycount so i have no idea at the moment.

I can post up a "wire frame" later on if that helps.

thanks, I'm starting to get some attention from other fire departments around me looking to have a few models made for them... interesting what this will lead to.

i hope that i'll get better at the color renderings.

Yeah, looks not bad. But it seems to be a bit high above the floor, a lot of space between the road and the Chassis. Is this normal?

Make sure you make a wheel well, because right now from your side view of the fire truck i can see the other tire. Besides that looks like a nice job texturing and a good job modeling, I have to agree with schaefft, everything looks a little to high. But i don't know what you are working off of so it might be accurate.

Looks great! I never knew SketchUp would be able to produce this kind of quality.
A bit high as mentioned, but stunning none the less

it does seem a little high, here is a photo of the apparatus I've modeled it from:

i do need to lower it a bit to decrease the wheelwell gap

thanks for the comments!!

I compared the photo above with one of your screens. The perspective is not 100 percent the same, but there shouldnt be too big differences:

Dunno if its because of the paintjob, but compare both wheel cases and the white lines. The front is more or less okay, seems a bit too high or big, but the rear one is under the top white line at the real fire engine, your wheel case isnt.

Another things is, your windows seem to be not high enought. It took me some time too see it, but if you compare them long enought with the real ones, especially the front one, you will see that the roof, or the whole top of the truck, should be some cm's higher than now. You can see it pretty good at this thing in the middle of the car, it isnt as high as the real part, so are your windows.

And theres the reardoor of the cabin. As you can see at the first picture, the arch of the wheel case needs half of the door, which doesnt look like that at the real truck. Seems like your wheel cases are just a little bit too large, the wheels are too large and the car is too far away from the floor + the roof seems to be a bit too low. The result is, that it looks like the truck is too flat and at the same time too high.

Lol, I hope you understand me.

I'm not entirely sure if I follow you, I'll try to post up the "photo-match" of the model and the picture... the picture I posted and the model I posted are from 2 different angles, I'll try to get them closer to one another.

Thanks for the comments and criticism though, I will try to make some adjustments when I can, I appreciate it!
