2008 Toyota Corolla Sedan

Hi all this is a project which I'm sure will be quite interesting. I have until Friday to model this car for the company I work for. I have modeled cars before but this will be a challenge as there is a tight deadline. I have started so of the model. I will be posting the progress throughout the week.

Nice start, maybe a bit poly heavy. Good luck for the deadline, it's a touchy one !

Currently project : Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster
Previous : Marcos 1800 GT (60's winner), Ariel Atom II (LightIsRight winner), SuperSeven (WZA #4)

The poly count is around 5000 at the moment. I am trying to keep it as low as possible
Thanks for the comments

Quite dense mesh indeed but end result is looking very fine

Unusual car you've choosed to model also, nice to see common traffic car in 3d

Low poly render
About 1,750 without mesh smooth and 6,998 with mesh smooth and 1 iteration.
I think the mesh isn't too heavy. It might be for games but I'm aiming for a photo realistic render
Getting the proportions correct is difficult without a top view.
Still refining the mesh.
I must start windows trim tomorrow.

Wow.. for a 4 door economical car this thing sure is complicated.. almost compares to some of the Supercars I model. There are a lot of areas that flair out and in on this model , but the Major things that I see is it feels lie your upper part of your doors and side glass is angled in too much. I think thats one of the first things Id work on first. To get more technical Id have to get photoshop out and start circling things. but its still easy saved

Thanks I tried to keep it as accurate as possible.
I also used a fair amount of reference photos to get details. The other problem being that I have no top view to judge the position of the door top edge and fender flares. The front and back prints are wildly off. I have attached some of the reference photos of the actual car.

Personally I think the only real major area is the angle I mentioned in the doors. Just try and move it around on your base mesh. I'm not sure which program you are using (too lazy to check if you said) But if this was my car Id use FFD, and start moving that area.

Tsee what you mean.I will revisit the door angles later once I get the smaller details done.
