Bentley Embiricos (1938)

Bentley Embiricos

The designer, Georges Paulin, has many claims to automotive fame. He designed the first retractable steel hard top for Peugeot and following from the Embiricos car, he designed a new Corniche model for Bentley in 1939. The only body was destroyed in Dieppe during an air raid and Paulin himself was executed by the Nazis for being a collaborator with the British. He was the Rolls Royce agent in Paris and a resistance hero. I also make a model of the Corniche in my Essence Of The Car range - see t h e e s s e n c e o f t h e c a r
