Help - Car Modelling 3DS Max

Hi everyone!
So I have been trying car modelling in 3DS Max but I`m struggling with getting a proper flow in the mesh so I could minimize the reflection continuity issue and blobs. So I would like to know how you guys usually approach car modelling in 3DS Max.
Here is what I have of information so far:
- Some people model in CAD softwares and retopo in another 3D package
- Some people build the spline cage as reference and go poly modelling from there
- Some people like to use spline modelling with modifiers such as surfacing in 3DS Max
- Some people approach a sub-d modelling with smoothing groups properties

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
