Disclaimer: I don't in any way endorse the ideology that the nazi swastika represented - far from it. But I think it's a bit naive to paint over historical symbols, as if that would wipe out the evil that happened and let us forget the past. The swastika was painted on the truck during the WW2, and if someone would like to model the truck as realistically as possible, I think he or she should paint the symbol on the truck - anything else would be dishonest and inaccurate.
