Topless: Hennessey Venom GT

Sweet curves! Is that the definitive car paint? I liked the one in post #44... :(
Still really cool work, Tom! Wanna see it with wheels on :D

Thanks for your kind words I really appreciate them !

davecox : not porn, only obstinated amateur work ;)

MARTS : another render below ;)

durban : the paint in post 44 turn out to be matte, which wasn't really expected. I think I'll stick to the more usual glossy paint, just a bit unsure about the color. Wheels beginning is below \o/

Erik_S : thanks, I'm glad someone like you appreciate ! The car is insane and still hot for me even after some months on it, so I guess it's indeed worth attention.

Update, many fixes here and there and the beginning of the rims.

Man I'm really glad to see that you will catch the deadline and won't leave this project on scrap, your model looks really sweet, even though you are the competition, I have only one question is is only me or the headlights looks little bit small and lonely :wut: ?

p.s.
I'm not trying to piss you, just asking to be sure that in the end you will make
accurate blueprint ;)

dissaster : you're completely right about headlights. Facelifted Elise now feature single headlight, so I chose that look for my still-to-be-produced version of Venom GT (if current Venom GT use old Elise face, maybe future Venom GT will use current Elise base) And I know it's not perfectly accurate to the facelifted Elise, because I tried to achieve something better than the facelift.

durban : I got you, I just tried another color because grey won't really suit my intended scene. But I'll redo a grey render especially for you if I have enough time.

Update : front tires. I now have to do the rear wheel.

Thanks mates for comments.

I've done a serious rework of the body seams, to make them smoother, with constant curvature radius and cleaner mesh. Below is an updated render, to compare with the previous one. And also some close-ups of different though areas. Latest pic is a wire to see the seams topology.

Yes MARTS is right, it's photon mapping buggy with Yafaray. Pathtracing was already on its way as of posting this render :)

My point was : it's possible to achieve a "nice" physical accurate lighting, without faking light using ambient / extralights. I, as a former scientist, was happy of that :)
